Rep. McCluskie, Sen. Donovan Raise Concerns to Secretary Bernhardt –

On April 29, Colorado State Representative Julie McCluskie and Senator Kerry Donovan expressed their concerns with the Bureau of Land Management’s Resource Management Plan for the Uncompahgre Field Office in a letter to Interior Secretary David Bernhardt. The letter highlights the values, resources, and economies of the North Fork Valley that are at risk of irreparable harm by the recently approved plan, and requests the Department of Interior withdraw the Record of Decision and re-engage local communities to create a plan that reflects “local solutions, not beltway politics.” They also request the BLM does not proceed with new oil and gas leasing in the North Fork Valley watershed until a new plan is in place.

We appreciate Rep. McCluskie and Sen. Donovan’s leadership and efforts to protect the public lands and economic future of the North Fork Valley!
