The John Moore Conservation Hero Award

By WSCC 1 week agoNo Comments

Every year WSCC recognizes an outstanding volunteer, someone who embodies the core values of integrity, service to community, and dedication, and highlights their excellent service and commitment to conservation advocacy and watershed stewardship.

This year, that award became even more significant as we named the honor after late volunteer member and trailblazer John Moore. John embodied the WSCC core values in all he did, becoming a pillar of conservation work in the community. John was a key leader in establishing our River Watch water quality monitoring program in 2001 and often took measurements of sites alone in the first years of the program. John also served as WSCC’s board chair for 10 years as well as supported numerous events and projects over his 25 years of service with our organization. We are honored to have had his support and remember him as an extraordinary volunteer and friend.
