On December 3, the BLM announced that 2,569 acres of BLM land northwest of the City of Delta have been nominated for the August 2013 Oil and Gas Lease Sale. Click here to read more about the August 2013 lease sale (scroll to DOI-BLM-CO-S050-2013-0006 EA).
The Conservation Center requests that the BLM defer this and all other lease sales in the Uncompahgre Field Office until the Resource Management Plan has been completed. This proposal is particularly concerning because of its close proximity to eligible Wild & Scenic Rivers, the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area, the Dominguez Canyon Wilderness and the Adobe Badlands WSA.
