North Fork Lobby Day in Denver – March 20th!
The League of Oil and Gas Impacted Coloradans, the statewide group advocating for prioritizing the health and safety of people in Colorado’s oil and gas regulations, has invited the Conservation Center, Citizens for a Healthy Community, and other North Fork Valley groups and residents to the Capitol to tell their story of why the North Fork Valley is at risk and deserves protection. Increased residential drilling on the Front Range has been getting a lot of attention, especially since the house explosion in Firestone killed two people last year. We need to ensure that our voices, and unique concerns around oil and gas development in our watersheds, on public lands surrounding our farms, homes, and schools are equally heard. We have been invited to join with other groups to share our specific concerns and educate legislators on the North Fork Valley. We will be presenting at the Capitol on March 20th and via live streaming from Paonia (time and location TBD).
How can I get involved?!
If you are interested in participating in the live streaming (and we hope you are, because it is important for legislators to see how many people are committed to protecting the valley from the health and safety impacts of oil and gas development), please RSVP in the form below!
