The Western Slope Conservation Center is hiring two part-time event coordinators to help organize our flagship Spring Events: Conservation Days and the Annual River Awareness Float and Festival. To apply, email resume to Alex Johnson, Executive Director (director [at] theconservationcenter.org).
Float Fest Coordinator Position Description
Coordinator will perform the following tasks as described herein and in any work plans attached. Duties will include:
- Advertise and coordinate float registration
- Coordinate float captains, boats, and logistics
- Identify and coordinate festival vendors and participants
- Solidify event agenda
- Coordinate logistics of event (i.e. rentals, catering, volunteers, communication)
- Manage event budget and secure any additional funds, including silent auction
- Manage alcohol, food, and general donations
- Secure permits, licenses, and other special event requirements from municipality and county
- Coordinate logistics post-event (i.e. clean up, thank yous, accounting)
The projected schedule will be as follows:
March 19 – May 11 (7 weeks): 10 hours * 7 = 70 hours total
May 14 – June 1 (3 weeks): 20 hours * 3 = 60 hours total, plus 12 hours during event
Post-week (1 week): 8 hours
Total hours = 150 hours
Conservation Days Coordinator Position Description
Contractor will perform the following tasks as described herein and in any work plans attached. Duties will include:
- Coordinate station volunteers
- Coordinate teachers and schools
- Coordinate logistics of event (i.e. catering, volunteers, communication)
- Manage event budget
- Coordinate logistics post-event (i.e. clean up, thank yous, accounting)
The projected schedule will be as follows:
April 2 – April 20 (3 weeks): 5 hours * 3 = 15 hours
April 23 – April 27 (1 week): 40 hours
April 30 – May 4 (1 week): 10 hours
Total hours: 65
