Blue Sage Concert Series Performance and Collaboration with WSCC – March 1

The Blue Sage Concert Series is proud to present the world premiere of a new work by composer Angel Lam scored for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and shakuhachi flute (with Grammy award-winner Kojiro Umezaki) on March 1, 7:30 PM at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts in downtown Paonia.  Lam’s new work will celebrate and honor decades of local citizen’s work and the legacy the Western Slope Conservation Center has built successfully protecting and enhancing its local watershed. The work, entitled ’The River Whispers‘ explores themes of humanity’s relationship with nature, and humans working together to restore and protect habitat.  Visual images and footage from WSCC will be juxtaposed with poetic descriptions of historic Colorado, along with wind, water, silence, breaths, mood, textures and songs, to create a nostalgic and exhilarating musical world evoking nature’s pristine beauty.
