JOIN OUR TEAM – THE CONSERVATION CENTER IS HIRING AN AMERICORPS VISTA!
The Western Slope Conservation Center (WSCC) is excited to hire an AmeriCorps VISTA to lead our new “Community Outreach on the Western Slope” project! The successful candidate will work with our community to develop and implement economic and environmental restoration projects. Primary goals include: developing watershed restoration projects, creating a robust volunteer and member engagement program, establish innovative organizational communication plans, and deepening relationships between the community, local businesses, municipalities, and land management agencies.
The focus of the program is to engage community members, to inspire new volunteers, and cultivate new conservation leaders in WSCC’s membership. The VISTA will create and leverage a database of meaningful opportunities for the individuals to participate in hands-on volunteer projects. The VISTA will also assist WSCC staff and volunteers in the development new and existing educational events, such as an environmental speaker series, to inform the community of exciting conservation topics. The program seeks to create new ways to effectively communicate with our membership and reach new and diverse audiences.
The position will be open until filled, although we strongly suggest submitting applications before April 5.
Requirements/Desired Skill Sets: Bachelor’s Degree is required. We are particularly looking for candidates with a passion for watershed and public lands programs, strong interpersonal skills, creative/design experience, and strong writing skills. Click the link below for full details.
